San Andreas, CA — 20 year old Rachael Nosanow of Stockton was killed in a single vehicle accident during the eleven o´clock hour Wednesday evening.
Nosanow, driving a 1990 Toyota Corolla, was eastbound on Hwy 4 west of Angels Camp. For some unknown reason according to the CHP report, she failed to negotiate a right hand curve and crossed the double yellow center lines. She then crossed the westbound lane and collided with a large boulder.
Nosanow suffered major injuries and was treated at the scene prior to transfer to Mark Twain-St. Joseph´s Hospital. From there she was flown by a PHI helicopter to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto where she succumed to her injuries.
Nosanow was not wearing a seat belt. She is the third of the county´s seven fatalities this calendar year to not be wearing safety restraint equipment.
Nosanow was reportedly following her boyfriend to the Murphys area. CHP Officer Jaime Castillo states there was an animal in the vehicle and she may have been distracted. Alcohol has been eliminated as a contributing factor to the fatal accident.
