Mariposa, Ca — The Telegraph Fire near Yosemite is now 80 percent contained, and the effort to fight the blaze has now exceeded $28.5 million.
The total acreage burned is 34,034 or 53 square miles.
CAL Fire officials say that no anticipated growth is expected unless a significant event occurs. Active fire behavior has been isolated to the north and east flanks. Other areas are experiencing short runs in the interior fire area due to lower humidity and higher temperatures.
Good progress was made Friday establishing and improving fireline around the north end. Today, firefighters will continue to work aggressively on getting fire lines completed in the north. Fire suppression repair needs are being identified and begun in several areas.
