Update at 6:21pm: CAL Fire incident command officials are planning for overnight crews to work the Tulloch Fire incident.
CAL Fire officials reported the blaze was holding at 90 acres at last check with zero containment. Personnel will be continuing to work on containing it through the night and early morning. South Lake Shore Tulloch Road remains closed for public safety reasons. No structures were considered under threat. The cause is still being investigated. Update: According to Tuolumne Calaveras CAL Fire Unit spokesperson Emily Kilgore in the December 2019 end of year report here “The Sept. 23, 80-acre Tulloch Fire was caused by a vehicle.” The next day’s report on this fire is here, the fire was reported contained here.
Update at 5:17pm: The Tulloch Fire has grown to 90 acres and there is one road closure.
CAL Fire officials say even though the blaze has spread from the previously reported 60 acres, it is now holding at 90 acres with no structures under threat. There is not yet any reported containment percentage, however. One road is now closed for public safety reasons: South Lake Shore Tulloch Road. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
Update at 4:35pm: CAL Fire officials say crews are making good progress on the Tulloch Fire.
The incident, which ignited in the two o’clock hour, is burning in vegetation between Highway 108 and Lake Tulloch off Tulloch Dam Road. No structures are threatened, according to officials, who report that the blaze is still about 60 acres in size.
Update at 4pm: Still no reported containment in the Tulloch incident, now at 60 acres.
CALFire officials report that the wildfire, burning in vegetation, edged up from the last report of between 40 and 50 acres. Still it is not threatening any structures and there are no evacuations. It is located off Tulloch Dam Road near Highway 108.

Update at 3:18pm: No containment yet in the wildfire now dubbed as the Tulloch incident.
CAL Fire officials report that the fire, which is still estimated between 40 and 50 acres, is not currently threatening any structures. It is located off Tulloch Dam Road near Highway 108. At this point, the CHP is not reporting that it is doing any traffic control in the area.
Update at 3:01pm: A fire in the vicinity of Tulloch Dam Road and Highway 108 is now 40 to 50 acres.
CAL Fire officials say the blaze has at least a moderate rate of spread and is located between the highway and Lake Tulloch. No word yet on if any structures are threatened.
Original Post at 2:40pm: Sonora, CA — Multiple units, including all aircraft off Columbia airbase, were called to a reported vegetation fire off Highway 108 and Tulloch Dam Road.
The call went out around 2:34 p.m. No other details are yet available We will provide more details as they come into the news center.
