Sonora, Ca — A continuation of the public hearing on Mountain Springs Community Project will resume Tuesday before the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors.
Local environmentalist John Buckley with the Central Sierra Environmental Resource Center says there have been ongoing discussions between both the opponents and proponents of the project.
?Both sides have been working with good interest to try and find a solution to something that the Board of Supervisors would consider as a reasonable solution to this highly polarized debate,? says Buckley. ?We´re optimistic that the Board will have something submitted to it as a recommendation that could eliminate the need for litigation, a petition drive, and a divisive campaign.?
The current Mountain Springs proposal would construct 897 new homes around the existing golf course. The public hearing is scheduled to resume Tuesday afternoon at 1:30pm during the Supervisors regular session meeting.
