Yosemite, Ca — Drift smoke has been reported in areas of Tuolumne County today, and the CAL Fire Dispatch Center says that it is due to prescribed burns taking place in Yosemite.
?These are areas that have not burned in quite a while,? says Park Spokesperson Adrienne Freeman. ?Obviously one of the biggest reasons for us to do prescribed burning is to maintain safe access along roadways in Yosemite Valley.?
Prescribed burns are scheduled to take place over the next two weeks in Yosemite National Park.
As of 2:30pm, CAL Fire reports that there are no fires that are being responded to in either Tuolumne or Calaveras Counties.
