Sonora, CA — Sonora Regional Medical Center is right around the corner from opening its new “in-house” Oncology Clinic.
According to Senior Vice President for Business Planning and Marketing Doug Duffield a $1.5 million linear accelerator has been purchased, installed and has passed the opening of two safety tests. The second test is scheduled for next week.
New hires include Dr. Mihoko Fujita and Dr. Robert D´Acquisto. Fujita is a radiation oncologist. She holds a PHD degree and will arrive in the Mother Lode in October coming from Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
D´Acquisto is a medical oncologist who has served at the famed Sloan-Ketering Cancer Center in New York.
Duffield adds the new clinic is scheduled to open in early November.
