Grape Stomp Highlights Wing Ding Festivities

Sonora, Ca — Classic cars lined the Junction Shopping Center Saturday afternoon for the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce´s Wing Ding Car Show and Grape Stomp.

?It looks like it has been a successful event,? says Chamber President and CEO George Segarini. ?We do this for the folks of Tuolumne County so that they have a chance to come out and look at some nice cars, and the grape stomp has also been a lot of fun.?

A total of 16 teams took part in the stomping festivities. The competition was put on by Mt. Brow Winery, who supplied the grapes.

?This is the first year we have done it, and we´re having a good time,? says Jim Costello, Mt. Brow Winery owner. ?We´re learning from it, and it is going to be better every year.?

A team representing Cost U Less took the top prize in the inaugural Stomp, which consisted of Tom Berry and Terri Macdonald. ?We wanted to make sure that we came out and supported this,? says Berry. ?I brought a car also, so we are having a great time today.?
