TuCare Set For Friday Event

Sonora, CA — The 2008 TuCare Natural Resource Summit and Field Tour is set for this Friday at the Sonora Elks Club.

TuCare President Mike Albrecht, the President of Sierra Resource Management in Jamestown, says the theme of TuCare´s 20th Anniversary celebration will be similar to the past couple of years; the thinning of forests and fire prevention.

Registration and a continental breakfast is scheduled for 8am along with information booths pertaining to natural resources in Tuolumne County. The summit is free to the public.

The Natural Resource Summit will run from 9am until noon. Senate Republican Leader Dave Cogdill will deliver a welcome. Opening comments will be made by Assemblyman Tom Berryhill. Cogdill will then return with a water issue update. Featured speakers will include Randy Moore, Pacific Southwest Regional Forester and the Deputy Director of Resource Management for CDF, Bill Snyder. The keynote speaker will be Congressman George Radanovich.

There will also be a panel discussion addressing global warming legislation implementation and a special presentation on the Mariposa County based Telegraph Fire.

The field tour (already filled) of the Stanislaus National Forest will start at 12:45 and last approximately four-and-a-half hours.
