Sonora, Ca — The Associated Press reports that there is one group of California workers who are getting a raise — state lawmakers.
The daily per diem rate is increasing from $170 to $173, which adds up to about $600 a year for most lawmakers. It is the funding lawmakers receive to offset their expenses during the legislative session in Sacramento.
It comes on top of their $116,000-a-year salaries. A state board approved the increase on Thursday.
