Sonora, Ca — There are over 34,000 registered voters in Tuolumne County, and over 14,000 have already submitted vote-by-mail ballots.
The Tuolumne County Elections Office was open for special hours on Saturday to answer questions and allow additional time for residents to drop off ballots.
Elections Official Debi Russell says that around 25 had stopped by within the first few hours.
?I think the weather probably held some people off, but everyone needs to have the ability to exercise their rights,? says Russell. “For some people that work, it is more difficult to come in during the week.”
Russell adds that if you still have a ballot out, it is recommended that you drop it off at the Elections Office on Monday or Tuesday, or take it to any polling location on Tuesday.
