Sonora, Ca — The 2,810 vote-by-mail ballots that were dropped off at Tuolumne County polling locations on Tuesday have now been counted, and there were no shifts among the leaders.
“Although they are still unofficial, we don´t believe that there is a way that the results will change,” says Elections Official Debi Russell.
The two races that were still in question after the initial results were counted on Tuesday evening included a County Supervisors race and a School Board contest.
For the District One Tuolumne County Supervisorial seat, incumbent Liz Bass now has 2,562 (52%) votes to challenger Randy Selesia´s 2,365 (48%).
In the Summerville High School Board of Trustees contest, David Marquez was the overall top vote getter with 2,727 (35%). In the race for the second seat, Dennis Spisak now has 1,864 votes (24%) to Adrienne Alderson´s 1,759 (23%).
Russell adds that overall voter turnout topped 80%. There are still some provisional ballots to be counted, which could put voter turnout at 81%.
