Yosemite National Park, CA — Dave Uberuaga, a 24 year veteran of the National Park Service, has been selected to serve as the acting superintendent at Yosemite National Park.
Uberuaga will assume his new duties effective January 4, 2009 replacing the retiring Mike Tollefson who will move to his new position as president of the Yosemite Fund.
Uberuaga will serve in this capacity until a permanenet replacement for Tollefson is selected by Regional Director Jonathan B. Jarvis and the Director of the National Park Service.
Uberuaga is currently the superintendent at Mt. Rainier National Park in Washington state.
Stated Uberuaga, “It will be difficult to fill Mike´s shoes. He retires having achieved tremendous success and a solid relationship with the community and it will be a pleasure to work collaboratively with him as he assumes the position of president of the Yosemite Fund.”
