Groveland Physical Therapy Unit Funding Approved

Sonora, CA — By 4-0-1 vote this morning the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors approved the use of $25,000 from MediCal reimbursements to continue operations of the Groveland Physical Therapy Unit.

The funding will be used to extend services through January and February of 2009 with the hope that Julie Tanaka will follow through on her verbal agreement to take over management of the facility effective March 1, 2009.

The unit was scheduled to close December 31, 2008 unless a private provider came forth to assume total responsibility for the facility.

First District Supervisor Liz Bass abstained from voting. The proposal needed a four-fifths vote to pass.
