Bear Valley, Ca — Skiers and snowboarders will be heading up to Bear Valley this weekend, as the slopes will open for the season on Saturday.
Recent investments made by the resort will make up for a lack of natural snowfall.
?We committed over $250,000 into state of the art S.M.I. snow making guns,? says Director of Mountain Operations Jon Mahanna. ?We purchased 10 of those, and they have really afforded us the ability to open up on the 13th.?
Only a limited number of runs are scheduled to be open Saturday, but Mahana says that he is encouraged by the weather forecast. ?The real excitement is these pending storms that are coming in,? adds Mahanna. ?We could get more terrain open as the snow accumulates. The weather forecast looks great over these next several days.?
Bear Valley lifts will start turning at 9am Saturday morning.
