Angels Camp, CA — A multi-purpose room at Bret Harte High School is on a list of projects that could be affected by a decision to halt $4 billion in state loans for infrastructure projects across California.
The three-member Pooled Money Investment Board voted Wednesday to freeze loans on nearly 2,000 projects, everything from highway improvements to new schools.
?When the economy turns around and when the state is able to sell these bonds, the District will be reimbursed,? says Bret Harte Union H.S. District Superintendent Michael Chimente. ?I´m hoping that by the time we issue the construction contract next year that this matter will be cleared up.?
The Bret Harte District is scheduled to receive $1 million in bond money for the multi-purpose room project.
