Board Considers Extending Moratorium

San Andreas, CA — Tuesday the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors will consider extending a ban on all zoning and general plan amendments.

On the agenda is an item to continue the moratorium that was passed in early December.

The goal is to curb large developments while the county´s General Plan is going through an update.

The extension is proposed to last for 10 months and 15 days. After that, County Administrative Officer Tom Mitchell says the board can extend the moratorium another year.

Additionally on Tuesday, the board will consider a contract for the first two phases of the General Plan Update.

The board meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the county Government Center in San Andreas.
