Twain Harte, CA — Twain Harte, CA — A major point of discussion at Wednesday´s Twain Harte-Long Barn Union School District board meeting was whether to move Black Oak Elementary students to the Twain Harte Middle School Campus.
Superintendent Mike Brusa says,The board is going to make the decision, and it is going to be a part of their budget process.” He notes that the budget process will not end until June 20th.
Brusa says the board has directed him to look at the things that would need to be done if the board decides to close Black Oak Elementary. A decision on whether to close the facility will be decided in the coming months.
If approved, students would move to Twain Harte Middle School for the 2007-08 school year. Just 10 years ago there were approximately 850 students at the two schools, while currently there are 433.
