Sonora, CA — According to Lt. Dan Bressler of the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department, 71 year old Grant William Kern of Soulsbyville died as a result of a myocardial infarction following his Tuesday afternoon vehicular accident.
Kern was proceeding to the Sonora Oaks Best Western Hotel at 2:30pm to pick up his wife when his 2004 Chevrolet pickup veered off the right side of Hess Ave. while headed in a southbound direction. After knocking over several fence posts, Kern´s vehicle crossed Hess Ave. and proceeded into the hotel´s parking lot where it collided with a Jaguar.
Kern exited the vehicle and told several individuals he didn´t know what had just transpired. He then lost consciousness. An hour after the accident he was pronounced dead at Sonora Regional Medical Center.
