Stanford University Medical Center, CA — Former Sonora residents Danny and Erin Milnick are calling it an incredible blessing; a heart has been located for their son Bryce.
The infant was born in November with a hypoplastic left heart syndrome birth defect. Doctors at the Stanford Medical Center told his parents that he would need a new heart.
This morning at two o´clock, Bryce´s parents received a call from one of the members of the heart transplant team working on Bryce´s case stating that a heart had been located and surgery had already been scheduled for noon today.
Over the past couple of weeks, more than 150 donors have joined in the Delta Blood Bank´s blood restoration drive to help defray the family´s medical costs.
Danny and Erin Milnick now make their home in Merced.
