Sonora, CA — A potential suicide in the 16000 block of Oak Tree Lane of Sonora was averted early this morning by members of the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department.
At 2:30 a call was received stating that a male occupant of the residence was holding a knife to his throat and threatening to kill himself. Dispatcher Leigh Ann Eastman and on-scene deputies were able, after 90 minutes, to persuade the individual to put down the knife and exit the residence.
At this hour he is being evaluated at T.G.H. for possible mental treatment.
