Sonora, CA — At two o´clock Monday afternoon the Investigations Division and members of the CAL FIRE Law Enforcement executed a search warrant regarding a January 15 hazing incident.
Two search warrants were served at the same time; one at the Columbia College Fire Station and the other at 18653 Columbia Dr. in Twain Harte. Various items of interest were seized and collected as evidence. No arrests were made.
This investigation stems from the alleged hazing of a 19 year old volunteer firefighter who was attending a party on East Meadow Lane in Sonora. Tuolumne County Sheriff-Coroner Jim Mele has stated that the victim and those under investigation are all students in the Fire Technology Program at Columbia College. Mele added at the time that the victim was subjected to an incident involving other firefighters who “hazed” him because he was the last of the newest recruits to come off probationary status.
