Sonora, CA — Safeway Inc. announces that is voluntarily recalling several of its private label bread products sold at Safeway and Pak ´n Save stores.
The company reports that the products may contain wire fragments from production machinery. The recall affects a number of breads with “best before” dates up to and including March 17th.

-Safeway Butter Top Wheat Bread
-Safeway Butter Top White Bread
-Safeway Crushed Wheat Bread
-Safeway Super Kids Bread
-Safeway Whole Grain Bread
-Safeway Premium White Bread
-Safeway Premium Wheat Bread
-Safeway Oven Joy White Bread
-Safeway Oven Joy Wheat Bread
-Safeway Texas Toast Bread
The recall also affects the following products withbest before” dates up to and including March 15th.
-Pak ‘n Save White Bread
-Safeway Premium White Sandwich Bread
-Safeway Pan Blanco Bread
-Safeway French Toasting Bread
-Safeway 100% Wheat Bread
The bread can be returned to the store for a full refund. While Safeway has received customer complaints, no injuries have been reported.
