Columbia, CA — The Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department says it is investigating an assault at Columbia College dating back to last month.
On February 27, a 30 year old female who was leaving class was allegedly assaulted by an unidentified male. The female was walking down a path away from her class, and the male started following her. He then ran towards the victim and tried to grab her. She fought him off, but he chased her down again.
She was able to escape from him a second time and summon help. She reportedly suffered scrapes and scratches, but was otherwise unhurt. The Sheriff´s Department has not received any other reports of a similar nature since this incident. The case is under investigation.
The suspect is described as 5-9 to 5-11, medium build, dark curly hair that stuck out under a black knit beanie cap, large nose, and was wearing a black hooded jacket. Contact the Sheriff´s Department if you have any information. The number is 533-5815.
