Sonora, CA — 48 year old Daniel Edward Johnson of Dusty Trail in Sonora is being held in the County Jail after being arrested Thursday for possession of 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, resisting arrest and failure to appear on local bench warrants.
Sheriff´s deputies learned that Johnson was somewhere in the area of Dusty Trail and Lime Kiln Rd. When Johnson spotted the deputies he attempted to escape. While resisting arrest, Johnson was pepper sprayed. Eventually he was handcuffed and taken into custody.
Due to a leg injury suffered by one of the deputies, the “resisting arrest” charge was booked as a felony.
Johnson´s bail has been set at $35,000.
