Sonora, Ca — A full list of 2007 summer programs has been released by the Tuolumne County Recreation Department.
Activities expected to be popular include the morning recreation program for children in 1st through 8th grade. Kids will have a chance to participate in sports, arts and crafts, playground games, field trips and nature studies. The program runs from June 11th through July 27th at Sonora Elementary, and June 18th through July 20th at Summerville High School.
A variety of ages will also be able to register for numerous sports camps and lessons. This includes golf, basketball, soccer, volleyball, jujitsu, tennis, rock climbing and swimming.
Adult softball will begin on June 25th. The deadline to signup a team is May 5th.
A kick-off event for the summer recreation season is scheduled for Saturday, May 5th, from 11am to 3pm at the Standard Park Sports Complex.
“It is our first annual ‘Day in the Park,´” says Recreation Supervisor Erin Begley.This is where we will be opening registration for 2007.”
The day´s activities are designed for children and will include relays, a bounce house, obstacle courses and creative arts and crafts. Special guests will include McGruff the Crime Dog and Smokey the Bear.
