Columbia, CA — The County Health Department along with many other agencies conducted a public exercise at the Columbia Airport this afternoon.
The purpose; learning how to deal with treating a plague for the general public from a medical perspective. None of the 300 plus members of the public had to leave their respective vehicles. County Emergency Preparedness Program Coordinator Janet Cook says the drive-through stations included registration, information, screening and the distribution of medication.
Others involved, Sonora Police, the Highway Patrol, the Sheriff´s Department and the Office of Emergency Services.
Agencies involved with funding included the state, Office of Homeland Security, the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta and the Health Resources & Services Administration.
