San Andreas, CA — The CHP says Erin Needels of San Andreas was arrested after crashing his car while speeding through San Andreas Sunday.
Needels was traveling southbound at more than 60 miles per hour through town when he attempted to pass another vehicle and lost control. His 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveled off the road, hit a phone booth then overturned coming to rest on its roof after hitting a Calaveras County Water District building.
The 24-year old Needels fled the scene into an apartment complex but was later found by CHP and the Sheriff´s Department.
He was taken to Mark Twain St. Joseph´s Hospital for treatment of several cuts.
The CHP says Needels will be charged with DUI and leaving the scene of a traffic collision.
