Mountain Ranch, CA — Crews from the Central Calaveras Fire and Rescue District raised close to $1,500 over the weekend for Muscular Dystrophy.
Chief Robert Gill says the annual Fill-the-Boot drive was held May 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Mountain Ranch.
The money will be given to Jerry´s Kids, which uses the money to assist affected children with Muscular Dystrophy and for this year´s Muscular Dystrophy Association Summer Camp.
In 2006 crews raised $1,040, in 2005 $765 and in 2004 $1,062.
Central Calaveras serves the communities of Glencoe, Rail Road Flat, Mountain Ranch and Sheep Ranch.
