Sonora, CA — The search for 16 year old Colleen Lenoir continues along the Stanilaus River.
The Dublin teenager was wading with a friend Sunday afternoon when they both apparently slipped and fell into the water. Her friend managed to escape the river´s grasp but Colleen did not.
The Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department has approximately 20 rescuers on scene along with a Calaveras County cadaver dog. The search has extended at least two miles downstream from where Colleen was last seen.
A number of helicopter flyovers have been conducted all to no avail. Search and Rescue teams from Yosemite and Calaveras County are also on site along with the family, friends and a chaplain.
The search will continue until the last possible moment this evening and will resume at Tuesday daybreak.
