San Andreas, CA — The CAL FIRE Emergency Command Center reported a number of fires this Father´s Day Sunday.
A vegetation fire burned 19 acres on Nine Oaks Rd. in the Paloma area. According to CAL FIRE Fire Captain Brandon Leitzke nine state engines responded with six local government engines along with Air Attack, two air tankers and Copter 404 from Columbia Air Base and two hand crews.
Cause of that fire is unknown at this time. There were no injuries to residents or fire fighters.
There was also a half acre vegetation fire on Camp Nine Rd. that was caused by a lawn mower. No injuries were reported.
Finally there was a half acre fire in the Mt. Knight area on U.S. Forest Service Rd. 4N01Y that destroyed a private residence and an outbuilding. According to Stanislaus National Forest Spokesman Jerry Snyder Air Attack, three air tankers and Copter 404 all responded along with six engines and three water tenders.
No injuries have been reported. Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
