Columbia, CA — At this ten o´clock hour Columbia´s Fourth of July Celebration is getting underway with a flag raising ceremony and the firing of a cannon near the gazebo.
The Columbia Cornet Band will perform 30 minutes later. At noon it´s the parade which starts at the Fallon Hotel.
The Great Mother Lode Brass & Reed Band will perform on Main Street at 1:15. Also at 1:15 it´s the Watermelon Eating Contest.
Other events include the 1:45 Pie Eating Contest in addition to Dancing in the Streets and the Greased Pole Contest at two o´clock. The Egg Relay is set for 2:30 with the Needle in the Haystack at the Mercantile, the Bucket Brigade behind Johnson´s Livery, the Cake Walk at the Fallon House and the Egg Toss at State Street all starting at 3pm.
The day´s activities will come to a close with the 4pm Tri-Tip Bar-B-Que.
