Sonora, Ca — Members of the Tuolumne Narcotics Team and the U.S. Forest Service eradicated 2,602 marijuana plants in the Big Creek Basin area off of Hwy 120 in the Stanislaus National Forest.
The plants found today range from 12-20 inches tall. If left to mature, the Sheriff´s Department estimates that the marijuana would have a street value of several million dollars.
There were no suspects or weapons located. Based on evidence found at the scene, the Sheriff´s Department believes that it was the work of a Mexican Drug Trafficking Organization.
