San Andreas, Ca — The assessed value of real property has topped the $7 billion mark in Calaveras County.
This is according to new statistics released by County Assessor Randy Metzger. “Even though the economy, as far as houses are concerned, has taken a turn down statewide, we had more events to process this year than last year,” says Metzger.
When it comes to property taxes, Metzger says the County, as a whole, will benefit from a net increase of 11.56% in the assessment rolls.
Tuolumne County had a smaller increase. County Assessor Ken Caetano says there was 8.3% growth in the assessment rolls, bringing the County´s total property value to 6.3 billion dollars.
