Mother Lode Fair May Be Held In June Next Year

Sonora, Ca — Next years Mother Lode Fair may be held earlier in the summer.

“We´re looking at a date in June for 2008,” says Fair Manager Jan Haydn-Myer. She says the Board of Directors will decide on whether to move the date up during a meeting in August.

“All of our contracts with the different services and equipment operators are up this year,” adds Haydn-Myer. Many of which, are three to five years in length. “It gives us an opportunity to re-negotiate contracts for a new date.”

Traditionally, the Mother Lode Fair is held during the middle of July. Haydn-Myer says the main reason for moving up the date would be to avoid 100 plus degree temperatures that have become associated with the event.
