San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors is not scheduled to conduct a regular Tuesday meeting next week, but a special meeting will be held on that day at 1pm in San Andreas.
According to the Stockton Record the meeting will deal with placing a jail construction bond measure on the Nov. 6th ballot. Several supervisors will be missing on the August 7th date of the next scheduled Board meeting, so it was decided to hold this meeting to make sure the bond issue is completed in time to be placed on the ballot.
The county is hopeful of building a 240 bed jail at a cost of between forty to fifty million dollars with seventy-five percent of the funding coming from the state thanks to the passage of AB-900.
