Columbia, CA — Columbia College is just two years away from enjoying a state-of-the-art Child Development Center on campus.
The $6.2 million complex, financed by the Measure E bond, will consist of five single level buildings: an Infant Center, Toddler Center, Preschool Center, Family Care Services and Administration Center and an adult classroom building for child development instruction.
Chief Operations Officer Connie Mical says the complex will be state subsidized and will be available to income eligible families, working families and students.
The three classrooms will house 101 children: 48 preschool, 32 toddlers and 21 infants. The five buildings will total more than 13,000 square feet.
Groundbreaking is scheduled for the spring of 2008. Construction will start in 11 months with completion set for 2009.
