Copperopolis, CA — Hot Copper Nights, sponsored each year by the Lake Tulloch Lions Club for the benefit of the community, made a most popular splash Saturday at the Castle & Cooke developed Copperopolis Town Square off Hwy 4 on Little John Rd.
The purpose of Hot Copper Nights is to raise funds for scholarships. Lions Club President Lou Boitano says four $1,000 scholarships will be awarded this year to graduating seniors. In addition a donation was made to a family that recently had their home destroyed by fire. Boitano added that funds are also earmarked for families in need in the Copperopolis community.
Jack Paolucci served as the event chairman for the third consecutive year. He states that one of the highlights is the display of all makes and vintages of cars. This year they surrounded the park setting in the midst of the townsquare. Paolucci added that the club was extremely happy with and thankful for the use of such a sparkling new venue.
Plenty of good food, raffles, the Budweiser Beer Wagon and some foot-tapping music also highlighted a day that was graced by absolutely perfect weather.
