Groveland, CA — By a 3-2 vote following a Beilenson Hearing Tuesday evening, the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors approved of maintaining services at the Groveland Outpatient Rehabilitation Center at least through the end of the current fiscal year.
Liz Bass and Paolo Maffei were the only dissenters.
Dick Pland stated he didn´t want to dispute the cost or the number of patients seen at the center. He simply wanted to find a way to keep the center open for the Groveland community.
After Teri Murrison labeled the audience´s comments as compelling, Board Chair Mark Thornton made a motion to keep the center open through at least the end of the fiscal year (June 30, 2008).
Thornton adds that he will continue to work with Sonora Regional Medical Center President and CEO Lary Davis (he was in attendance) in order to establish a degree of permanence to the center´s five-day-a-week operation.
