Angels Camp, CA — Thanks to the generosity of the major sponsors of the Calaveras Community Foundation´s 20th Annual Pro-Am Golf Tournament at LaContenta in May, the non-profit foundation has been able to increase its giving by 20 percent over a year ago.
Jackson Rancheria, Umpqua Bank, Chatom Vineyards, Firefall Jewelers and American Home Mortgage all served as tournament sponsors.
With a CCF grant the Volumteer Center of Calaveras County will be able to continue services for a “safety net” transporation program for senior, handicapped and low-income residents.
The CCF grant will allow Common Ground Senior Services to continue meeting the nutritional needs of seniors with home delivered meals.
And thanks to a CCF grant, the Calaveras Arts Council will continue to bring performing artists in the Ovations Series to elementary and middle schools.
According to Board President Susan Crosson, there has been a fifty percent increase in groups seeking funding totaling $114,000 over a year ago. Crosson notes that CCF has awarded $175,000 in grants and scholarships to more than 60 civic groups since 2001.
