Sonora, CA — Third District Supervisor Teri Murrison and TuCare Director Melinda Fleming hosted a Kennedy Meadows press conference at 12:30 today on the steps of the Tuolumne County Courthouse.
Meadows Owner Matt Bloom spoke in behalf of his family in thanking those in attendance and others throughout the state for their tremendous thoughtfulness in helping the family deal with the $1.5 million loss of the guest lodge, seven cabins and a number of outbuildings. Bloom added that Kennedy Meadows will be rebuilt and open for business as usual next year.
Other speakers included P.G.& E.´s Janet Walther, Tuolumne County Assistant Fire Warden Julie Enriques and Cal Fire Investigator Rommie Jones.
Fleming added that the Kennedy Meadows and TuCare web sites will update the public on upcoming fundraising events and volunteer opportunities. The initial fundraiser will be the Buck-A-Roo Ball and Dinner to be held at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds December 29th.
