Sonora, CA — Friday Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department deputies arrested 42 year old Angela Jean Mary Moore and 52 year old George Stephen Bannister on numerous charges.
Deputies received a call from a Sonora resident reporting that his former girlfriend, Angela Moore, had arrived at his residence on Thanksgiving Day and while there he learned that she might be in possession of a weapon.
Deputies then received a report that she may have recently stolen a rifle from another acquaintance.
Friday Deputy Paul Speers spotted Moore´s vehicle, a white 1997 Ford Taurus on Parrott´s Ferry Rd. Speers made contact with Moore and immediately took her into custody.
Bannister was a passenger. He was intoxicated and refused to be cooperative. After being stunned by a Taser he complied and was taken into custody without further incident.
Numerous non-prescription drugs were discovered in the vehicle along with a .308 calibre Winchester rifle which was returned to its rightful owner.
Moore was booked into the County Jail on drug charges and possession of a stolen weapon with bail set at $15,000. Bannister was released once he was considered sober.
