Sonora, Ca — On Monday afternoon, the Sonora Police Department received an anonymous tip that two individuals were smoking marijuana in the parking lot behind the Tuolumne General Hospital building.
Officers responded and arrested 20-year-old Michael Grooms of Sonora and 27-year-old Justin Ligon of Tuolumne. Ligon was already on active parole for transportation of narcotics.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found marijuana, methamphetamine, electronic scales, drug paraphernalia and packing materials. Several of the plastic bags containing marijuana and methamphetamine were marked with the weight and price for the purpose of selling them.
Both Grooms and Ligon were taken into custody without incident.
