Snowfall Finally Hits The Mother Lode

Sonora, CA — Mother Nature took her time but snowfall finally hit the lower elevations of the Mother Lode Thursday evening and early Friday morning.

Portions of Soulsbyville (3,000 foot elevation) were blanketed with snow that started falling during the eight o´clock hour Thursday evening.

The CHP cautions all motorists to truly concentrate this morning. In addiiton, drive at a reduced speed and don´t follow another vehicle too closely. If you start to slide, tap your brakes, don´t not slam on them. In addition turn INTO and not OUT of your slide.

Finally the CHP advises to eliminate travel if at all possible. The fewer vehicles on the road the less chance there is of accidents.
