Couple In Wendy’s Finger Case To Be Sentenced

San Jose, CA — The couple who planted a fingertip in a bowl of Wendy´s chili could be looking at a long time behind bars when they´re sentenced today.

Prosecutors are asking for the maximum sentence for Anna Ayala and Jaime Plascencia when they´re sentenced this morning for trying to extort money from the restaurant chain.

Ayala could get nine years, eight months in prison. Plascencia could get 13 years. Ayala initially claimed to have found the fingertip last March while eating with her family at a Wendy´s in San Jose.

Both pleaded guilty in September to felony charges of conspiracy to file a false insurance claim and attempted grand theft.
