CAMP Receives National Award For Pot Busts

Sacramento, CA — A record-breaking marijuana eradication season of more than one million plants has prompted the Office of National Drug Control Policy to recognize the Campaign Against Marijuana Planting program with a national award.

Attorney General Bill Lockyer says the Distinguished Service Award for superior performance in 2005 is a result of CAMP´s continued success with the help of sate, local and federal law enforcement agencies working together.

In addition to 237 raids in 31 counties, officers made 42 arrests and seized 76 weapons. More than 27,500 plants were seized in Tuolumne County and in Calaveras County more than 8,000 plants were destroyed.
