San Andreas, CA — The San Andreas office of the California Highway Patrol is warning motorists in Calaveras County of the increased vehicle thefts in the area.
Officer Mike Maddox says several cars have been stolen from White Pines and Arnold recently.
Maddox says that all too often people leave their keys in their cars or leave their vehicles running and unattended while they are warming them up or making a quick trip into a store.
The CHP is advising people to lock their car doors and remove the keys. Maddox believes that often the thefts are a crime of opportunity so he advises people not to leave their vehicles running unattended.
If anyone has information regarding the recent thefts they are asked to call the San Andreas CHP office.
