Sacramento, CA — The state Assembly is voting to give state regulators more authority to control patients´ deductibles and co-payments in health insurance plans.
The bill sent to the Senate aims to control skyrocketing health care costs that are often passed on to consumers.
It sets standards to regulate the amount of money patients pay out. Opponents say consumers already can choose their health insurance programs. They say more regulations and bureaucracy won´t cut costs.
