North-South Connector Meeting Leaves Standing Room Only

Sonora, CA — More than 100 Tuolumne County residents are trying to make sense of six possible roadway segments expected to ease traffic on Highway 49 through downtown Sonora.

The third public meeting for the North-South Connector Project filled the Sonora Elks Lodge last night.

The public was able to view maps and ask questions of the project team after a presentation about road scenarios, all of which have different impacts on traffic and homeowners.

Mark Houghton with the Public Works department says the feasibility study will be presented to the Tuolumne County Transportation Council later this month and then a recommendation will be made to the Board of Supervisors in April.

To review the power point presentation and get more information about the road scenarios visit the Tuolumne County webpage.
