Douglas Flat, CA — A fire in Douglas Flat is still under investigation after it burned three businesses Sunday.
Fire Captain Will Rydell says the fire started in a strip mall that housed a cabinet shop, a sign store, as well as living quarters for the building owner located on Highway 4.
Fire crews responded at 3:30pm to battle the blaze after Clay Hawkins with the Calaveras County Office of Emergency Services saw the fire and got the owner out.
Rydell says the damage is unknown at this point, however he says because it is a steel building the framework is still intact.
