Sonora, CA — With all of the wet weather in the Mother Lode, it is hard to think about June; however, Sober Grad organizers are asking for the community to step up and volunteer.
California Highway Patrol Officer Alan Pittman says Sober Grad was started by the CHP back in the 1980´s to give high school seniors a place to go to keep them out of trouble on graduation night.
This year, Pittman says the event will be held at the Sierra Bible Church and organizers are in desperate need of donations and volunteers.
He says the hardest shifts to fill are the late ones, but adults are needed at all times for the all night party.
For more information about how to get involved contact Pittman at the CHP office in Jamestown at 984-3944.
